MAFLT FLEX CONFERENCE
While in the MAFLT program, I was able to be a part of the FLEx Conference. This was a great experience that the students got to be a part of where each of us were able to come up with our own presentation topic and present it. Although it was online, it really had the feeling like it was an actual conference. There were so many great topics to learn about and you could tell that each student was passionate about their topic. The presentations were all based on research as well and the knowledge that each student had gained through the MAFLT program. For this conference I was able to speak about the different language variations that are found in Spain. I love to focus on the phonetics of language, which is why I chose to speak about this during my portion of the conference. Language variation can occur due to many different causes and I touch on some of those during my presentation. Language variation isn't just something that happens within the Spanish language either - it happens within every language to some extent, which is why it was so fun to learn about and present on. It is relevant for every language!
